                            RHS Advisors/Coaches:

The 2008 President’s Bowl Ticket Blitz is once again approaching rapidly
and as the co-chair of the Ticket Blitz for this year, I would like to start
off first by saying “Thanks” for your support in the past and Thank You
in advance for your support of the Ticket Blitz event for 2008.  The date
for the 2008 ticket blitz will be Aug. 28th from 6:00-9:00pm.

The major change for this year will be that instead of using the pre-sale
form format that has been used for the last couple of years, we are
switching to a neighborhood canvass that will involve sending out
groups of students and a parent to an assigned RHS neighborhood to
go door-to-door to sell tickets for the President’s Bowl.  The intent in
going to the neighborhood canvass format is to encourage student
participation from all activities at RHS and with that increased
participation from the students, sell more tickets to the President’s
Bowl.  The President’s Bowl is the major fund raising event for the RHS
Booster Club.  One third of all monies raised at the President’s Bowl are
returned to the RHS Booster Club to be distributed to every activity at
RHS.  One way we can increase the amount of money returned to RHS is
by having full participation from all activities for the Ticket Blitz.  More
tickets sold equals more dollars for RHS!!

What can you do as an RHS Advisor/Coach to help?

The main thing we need from you is to encourage participation from all
of the students involved in your activity the night of the ticket blitz.  It
will involve a time commitment for 6:00 to roughly 9:00 pm the night of
the ticket blitz.

Listed below are a few details for the 2008 ticket blitz night:

1.The RHS neighborhoods will be divided up into smaller areas and
then a group of 4 students and one adult chaperone will be sent out
with a map of their assigned area to go out door-to-door in that area and
sell tickets to the President’s Bowl.

2.As there will be prizes award for the top sellers, there will be a
form in with the map packet to keep track of who sold how many tickets.
The prize format will be as follows:  The top two salespeople will receive
$75.00 and $50.00 Best Buy certificates respectively, plus anyone who
sells ten tickets or more will be entered into a drawing for Rider Wear
and other gift certificates.

3.We also will need a substantial amount of adult volunteers to go
out with the students to help make this a success.  I would ask that
Advisors/Coaches communicate to the parents of the students that
adult volunteers are needed to help with the ticket blitz.  We will need
roughly 70-75 adults to help the night of the ticket blitz.  The Booster
Club will also put out a request for adult volunteers to help.

4.Last but not least, WE WANT THIS TO BE FUN AND PROVIDE THE
STUDENTS WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO GET TOGETHER, HAVE A GOOD
TIME AND RAISE MONEY FOR RHS!!!  There will be food and drink
provided to every participant the night of the ticket blitz.

I would also like to mention that there is a friendly competition between
RHS, WHS, and LHS with a traveling trophy going to the school that sells
the most President’s Bowl tickets the night of ticket blitz.  It has been a
few years since RHS has won the trophy-lets all work together and try
and bring it back “home” to RHS!!!

Summary of what is needed:
* Students and parents drivers from your activity
* Arrive at Roosevelt anytime between 5:45-6:30.
* Grab packet that includes tickets and map/directions to canvass
* Food and pop available upon return check-in

On behalf of the Roosevelt Booster Club, “THANKS for ALL you do!”

Please contact either of us with any of questions. We are
thankful for your support!
